Grand Lodge

The Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Delaware traces its heritage back to lodges that operated in present day Delaware in the 18th century. Lodges of that day were chartered, or authorized to meet, by the neighboring Grand Lodges. Shortly after the American Revolution, several of the lodges within Delaware voiced the desire for their own governing body. After several attempts, brothers in Delaware joined together in 1806 and formed their own Grand Lodge.

Today the Grand Lodge of Delaware oversees the individual lodges in all three counties. Providing administrative oversight, standardized governing rules for the fraternity, and leadership for the state.

Membership of the Grand Lodge is comprised of current Masters, Wardens, and Past Masters of our lodges in the state. From the collective of these Past Masters, the lodges elect presiding officers to serve the entire state.
